Adult Stem Cell Therapy & Platelet Rich Plasma
About Dr. William F. Bennett – Bio
Dr. Bennett is originally from Trumbull, Connecticut, and has been part of the Sarasota community since 1995. His interest in sports medicine started as a child. He started playing hockey at the age of 5, then little league. Football, wrestling, track, and waterskiing followed. Later on, Dr. Bennett developed an interest in weight lifting and also played polo in the U.S., Argentina, and England. His diverse interest in sports over the years has contributed to a wealth of knowledge of sports injuries and injury prevention. Because Dr. Bennett has played so many competitive sports, he empathizes with injured athletes, as well as those who participate in sports recreationally, and is passionate about helping them return to their favorite activities and and attain their best performance possible.
Although Dr. Bennett is a surgeon, he has had a particular interest in biological alternatives to surgery, and for over a decade has devoted a substantial portion of his practice to helping patients live active, pain-free lives through the use of adult stem cells and platelet rich plasma (PRP).
Besides helping the patients he meets through his medical practice, Dr. Bennett saw a need to improve the tools and devices used in surgery to achieve better healing and results for patients worldwide. He invented the patented ZipE® knotless tissue repair device and founded medical device companies Ziptek (U.S.) and Ziptek Mexico Sa De CV to make it available to patients in the U.S. and all over the world.
Outside of helping his patients live fuller, pain-free lives, Dr. Bennett enjoys spending time with his wife, their son and twin daughters, and three dogs. Dr. Bennett has been an usher at St. Martha’s Church for 7 years. He also enjoys weight lifting and shooting sporting clays.
